Some say love is like a boomerang, it keeps coming back to where it started. Rachel and David knew each other all the way through High School and College but never let things stray from being just friends. A year after college they both found themselves in Colorado and decided to start dating. Unfortunately David’s job transferred him 6 hours away, but two years later they found themselves reunited yet again. Even with all the twists and turns, moves, and job changes, it turns out being together was inevitable. And look how great they are! We braved some chilly weather and even snow flurries on their last visit to Chicago for their engagement session, it was a blast! When things got too cold, we went to the fantastic Map Room for a beer (also great for photos), and then ducked back outside just before sunset. These two are fabulous company and I can not wait for their wedding next week at the Planetarium, congrats Rachel and David!

So cute!

Then a quick stop at Le Colombe for a delicious cup of coffee and tea.

And another indoor location, the awesome Map Room (over 200 brands of beer!).

{Leah: Baby Bump}

Leah was a gorgeous bride last year, and now she is the cutest pregnant woman ever! I couldn’t get over how great she looked, perfectly petit with a big-ol-belly! We kept it simple, just focusing on classic shots that show off the beauty of motherhood. She was the perfect model, it was such a pleasure to capture yet another milestone in her life. Leah and Shawn are going to be awesome parents!

{Vanessa+Micah: Library Love}

Vanessa and Micah are true sweethearts, they met at DePaul a few years back and have been side by side ever since. Their college years meant LOTs of studying, balanced out with aggressive games of Connect Four and walks around campus. Even now, being a few hours away from each other as Micah finishes law school, they are the best of friends. We decided to meet where it all began, the cold weather didn’t bother us as we spent time in the DePaul library. Vanessa had some great ideas, and even brought her own books from home to make the photos a true reflection of their relationship. It couldn’t have been a better evening spent with such a charming couple, I can’t wait for their wedding this summer!

These giant windows were a great spot for a little study session.
